Enlargement of‚ÄúCir‚ÄĚ ski run rejected

The project to enlarge the ‚ÄúCir‚ÄĚ ski run has been rejected by the Commission for Forestry, which imposed a revision of this project.

The ‚ÄúDantercepies Seggiovie S.P.A‚ÄĚ (Dantercepies Cableways Joint Stocks Company) proposed a project to enlarge the ‚ÄúCir‚ÄĚ ski run at Selva di Val Gardena; the materials movements in the project would be of 41.000 m¬≥, while the enlarged surface would be of 10.600 m¬≤. The ski run will be shifted on a piece of land characterized by forests and many rocks; the ski run would be 85 meters large, instead of the present 25 meters. According to the President of the Commission Adriano Oggiano, the ski run would be too close to the ‚ÄúParco Nazionale Puez Odle‚ÄĚ (Puez-Odle natural park) protected area, and the second protected area ‚ÄúNatura2000‚ÄĚ. The second Forestry Commission rejected the project because this enlargement would be too invasive for the surrounding landscape; moreover, the Commission prescribes the project limitations under the control of the regional forestry department.
