IMU for your holiday home

There are more or less 12.500 holidays homes in South Tyrol; the IMU tax will grow three times for them. The South Tyrolean local councils affirm that this financial measure helps to block the region "total selling off". Local councils would like to lower the IMU tax for everyone else, thanks to the money collected with this tax.

Local councils gave their consent to the IMU tax augmentantion pour every "holiday home" used just for holidays and not as a fixed place of residence. The IMU tax for these holidays homes will be augmented of 10,6%, a huge increase. To contrast this financial measure, many people would probably decide to register some of their family members in these holiday homes, but local councils decided that these people would need a document attesting their permanent residence there, to have a "lighter" IMU tax.
