The Passiria Valley is ideal for cyclists. The Passiria cycling route is well cared for and sign-posted, it is close to nature and mainly consists of gravel and chippings roads. The Passirio River leading through the Passiria Valley accompanies cyclists along the entire way.

The cycling path does not lead through the villages in the Passiria Valley, they can however easily be reached.

The cycling route starts off as a loose chipping path, and then leads to a finely grained surface. The path is used by cyclists, hikers and on some stretches also by horse riders.

On the traces of Emperor Sisi in Merano
The traces of the most famous guest in Merano, the Austrian Emperor Sisi, can still be followed. From Trauttmansdorff Castle with the botanic gardens and the museum for tourism you can hike all the way down to the centre of Merano. Here you can visit the medieval arbours with the flair of ancient times.

The Ice Man "Ötzi" in the Archaeological Museum in Bolzano
The South Tyrolean Archaeological Museum tells the story of our country from the last ice age to the time of Charlemagne. A tour through 15,000 years of history of the southern alpine region. In addition to other precious findings from ancient times, also "Ötzi" the 5,300 year old Ice Man can be seen in the museum. A must for all visitors to South Tyrol!

The Passiria Museum in San Leonardo
History for Tyrol was written at the Sandhof in San Leonardo / Passiria, the home of the freedom fighter Andreas Hofer (1767 - 1810). A documentary film on the rebellion in Tyrol in 1809 is shown in the former stables of the building. The open-air area with buildings dating back to the 16th and 19th century rounds off the museum adventure.

Fascination of the Mines at Monteneve in the Passiria Valley
800 years of mining history are shown in the South Tyrolean Mining Museum in Monteneve in the Passiria Valley. Up to 1,000 people were employed here during peak times. In 1967 the mine was closed and re-opened as an adventure mine in 1996. Enjoy the secret fascination of the world underground.

Day excursions
The idea of a trip to the romantic city of Venice or the beautiful Lake Garda can be easily realised. Also Verona and its Arena are often visited by our guests. Between the South Tyrolean way of life and the Italian Dolcevita you can enjoy many things in a single day!
