Winter
When the first snows dance around the peaks of the South Tyrolean Dolomites in October and cover the mountains in a glittering white blanket, then the Ahrntal residents know that Winter is just around the corner. As if by magic on a cold autumn night, the Tauferer Ahrntal transforms into a winter wonderland. This natural paradise lets everyone forget the daily hectic and revive with sunshine, clear air and peace. Winter sports enthusiasts wait most unpatiently during Autumn for the beginning of Winter and the first snows.
Then in December, when the ski areas of South Tyrol present themselves with highly groomed slopes, there's no more holding back! The Holiday Region of Tauferer Ahrntal offers much to its winter guests. Don't forget to pack skis, snowboards, winter boots and a sled! The fascinating homeland of the famous mountaineer Hans Kammerlander offers many winter sports opportunities. As you like it from athletic, indulgent to romantic. Dreamy walks and long winter hikes past frozen waterfalls and glittering, sunny landscapes are all calling you. The many Top Spots for ice climbing are a special highlight. With many frozen waterfalls, the Ahrntal is one of the best ice climbing areas in Europe!
